Tragic Incident in Dublin – Important Information for our community

15 October 2025, a 17-year old boy from Ukraine tragically died at a temorary accommodation centre forminors in Donaghmede, Dublin. Two other people were injured and taken to hospital. The suspect has been detained, and the investigation is ongoing.

This tragedy deeply affects all of us. We share the pain of the family – the loss of a young life that had only just begun in a new country.

We urge everyone to:

• Talk with your brothers, sisters, children and friends about safety and support, and the importance of avoiding conflicts and contacting the Gardai immediately if in any danger.
• Be attentive to one another. Support and protect those around you.

Message to the parents of the deceased:

We extend our deepest condolences and support to youduring this unimaginable time.  There are no words that can ease the pain of losing a child.

This is terrible reminder that we must stand together to protect our children and young people who have come to ireland without their families.

We are with you. Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
